I especially enjoyed how this drum leaf binding turned out. This project was completed at MATTER, Ltd. on June 18. While some aspects were improvised, they ultimately yielded beautiful results.
The text block is made from ink swatch scrapes from Rick Griffith (thank you for letting me scrounge), dry-mounted together. I initially pulled this sheet without much thought while teaching a guest at MATTER, Ltd. how to bookbind, then cut it down to size. Once I began mounting the pages, I noticed just how striking the ink swatches were. The ink patterns retained movement and texture, creating their own quiet narrative throughout the book.
The cover is made from one-ply chip board, black Lineco bookcloth, and French Speckletone Paper.
